As a Jets fan, today is a huge day. The New York Jets have made a big move to improve their offense by hiring Nathaniel Hackett as their new offensive coordinator. Hackett has a proven track record of success in the NFL, having previously served as the offensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers and the Jacksonville Jaguars. One of the biggest reasons for the Jets hiring Hackett is his experience working with Aaron Rodgers. Hackett was the quarterback's coach for the Packers and helped him develop into one of the best quarterbacks in the league. With Hackett now on board, it could increase the Jet's chances of trading for Rodgers.
Rodgers might say he wants out of Green Bay, and the Jets are one of the teams that have been mentioned as a potential landing spot for him. If the Jets can trade for Rodgers, they would finally have the franchise quarterback they've been searching for…
With Hackett as the offensive coordinator, he would be able to tailor the offense to Rodgers' strengths and help him reach his full potential. In addition to his experience working with Rodgers, Hackett also has a reputation for being an innovative play-caller. He likes to use a lot of pre-snap motion and misdirection, which can help keep defenses on their toes and open up opportunities for the offense.
Overall, the hiring of Nathaniel Hackett as the Jets' new offensive coordinator is a positive move for the team. With his experience working with Aaron Rodgers and his reputation as an innovative play-caller, Hackett could help the Jets take the next step and become a playoff team. However, it's important to note that the Jets are not the only team that is interested in Rodgers, and trading for him would likely require giving up a significant package of draft picks and players. And also, the Green Bay Packers have not yet publicly announced if they are going to trade Rodgers or not. In any case, it will be interesting to see how the Jets' offensive will develop under Hackett's leadership and if they will be able to make a move for Rodgers, who could be a game-changer for the team and would make me ecstatic. I’m trying to stay optimistic but Hackett’s last season with the Broncos was terrible. Hopefully he can return to his old form.
Down the stretch, the Jets collapsed. The Jets finished the season with a record of 7-10 after starting 6-3, and they went three games without scoring a touchdown. However, Zach Wilson, Mike White, and Joe Flacco's terrible quarterbacking were mostly to blame for those offensive difficulties.
Look no further if you're looking for a roster with a Super Bowl-caliber supporting cast that is only a decent quarterback away from contending. With receiver Garrett Wilson and cornerback Sauce Gardner, the Jets could have the Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year.. Elijah Moore and Garrett Wilson appear to be cornerstone players at receiver. The Jets' young talent group may be the greatest in the NFL when combined with running back Breece Hall. Quinnen Williams, who became a top-tier defensive tackle in 2022, anchors New York's outstanding defense.
The offensive line for the Jets is weaker than that of Green Bay. But while the Jets are great almost everywhere else. There aren't many places that would give Rodgers a better opportunity if the Packers do decide to trade him.
Zach Wilson and White are not competent enough to be trusted with a Super Bowl run. Given his history of injuries, Jimmy Garoppolo's signing would force the Jets to turn back to White at the halfway point of the season. Carr, whose deal with the Raiders has no remaining guaranteed money, might be a candidate for trade by the Jets. But that seems like a mediocre option.
Which would Jets fans would prefer: Carr for a second-round pick or Rodgers for a first- and second-round pick?
Give me the 4 time MVP any day!
Teams may legitimately wonder if Aaron Rodgers is past his prime given that his passing yardage, touchdowns, and interceptions were all significantly lower this season compared to his two MVP seasons and his passer rating (91.1) was at its lowest point since he started for the Green Bay Packers. But following the 2019 season, we had the same concerns about Brady and Rodgers. Brady left the Patriots for Tampa Bay and won the Super Bowl right away, demonstrating how much more he could have done with a stronger supporting cast. Rodgers won back-to-back MVP honors in 2020 and 2021 after returning to his playing style. It seems like a decent bet that surrounding them with better players will lead to better seasons. And even if Rodgers is washed at age 39, so what? He’d be 5 times better than White, actually 10 times better?
For Rodgers, a first-round pick is most likely the minimum. The offer for Russell Wilson from the Broncos was two first-round picks, two second-round picks, and more. The only other veteran QB who could make sense for the Jets is, and I hate to say this, Brady (or Cam Newton). He is set to become a free agent. The Jets make sense if Brady wants to join a contender, and attempt to beat Belichick's ass twice a year. However, the Jets are unlikely to go after Brady due to the intense past between them and Brady. Therefore, if the Jets want to enter the upcoming offseason as a genuine Super Bowl contender, they have to get Rodgers.
Zach Wilson would also benefit from Aaron Rodgers being brought in and seated behind him if the Jets genuinely still have faith in him. Wilson has always admired Rodgers, and Rodgers has talked highly of Wilson.
The Jets can aim to win a Super Bowl while the Packers can start their next era. Rodgers only needs to switch over his green and gold jersey for a green and white one. I am praying this happens; for me and all of the suffering Jet fans. Including, Uncle Ant, Papa J Lighting, and me :(
